Fear is so tempting, mesmerizing and familiar. Familiar feels safe. Ignore it anyway. Whatever we bless with our attention and thoughts, we energize. So flip your fears into their opposites – what you really want – and commit to giving your attention to that.
Mother Teresa understood this. She said she would never attend an anti-war rally, but she would attend a peace rally. She wouldn’t give any of her energy to war, especially by resisting it. The way I see it, we don’t honor our soldiers by keeping them engaged in war. We honor them and their past actions by creating peace, bringing them home and letting them use their skills, knowledge and strength to create good in their lives & ours. May the Iraq War be the last war ever fought by the U.S.A. Ever! Let’s live in worldwide peace.
Turning away from fear to focus on wants instead sounds easy, but it hasn’t been for me. Ignoring fear and purposely focusing on the joyful outcomes I want takes daily persistence. It has been scary to even dare to want what I truly want for myself and for my son. I’m learning to ignore or dissolve the distractions like:
“HOW can that possibly come true? Be realistic!”
“Why am I worthy of having what I want?”
“Why is it OK to have my life work well when there are still others struggling?”
These are distractions that, if I allow them, water down my wants into acceptable versions of what we collectively might believe is possible. And that isn’t what I want.
This IS what I want, and what I sense - in my deepest core - is now beginning to grow into form - through us, through all of us.
Every person is in conscious, daily contact with their inner spiritual self. Each of us chats naturally and confidently with the part of us that is eternal and all-seeing. Loneliness is gone, since we are now fully aware of, and in open communication with, our closest, loving friend. Trust abounds - trust in our own inner guidance, trust that everyone is safe in the hands of their own inner guidance, trust that NOW we can simply explore and create in fun and curiosity.
Every person goes to sleep in a place that is safe, comfortable, cozy. As each of us relaxes and drifts off to sleep, our thoughts naturally meander over the moments we enjoyed and we smile. Each of us feels satisfied with ourselves. We may want to try something tomorrow that challenges us, yet we feel inherently worthy and worthwhile, no matter what happens. As our eyes close, we feel relaxed and intrigued about the life ahead of us.
Every person wakes up feeling rested, restored and energized. We wake up looking forward to another day to play! Ready to explore, to challenge ourselves, to discover, to figure out, to create. Each of us has an unshakable knowing that we are wholly supported in Life and our only true job is to follow our interests and desires. Each of us knows without any doubt that there is plenty of help readily available just for the asking. And we feel free to ask. Help happily offered by humans, animals, nature, and spirit. We each feel great helping each other by just being ourselves and doing what comes naturally for us. We each freely receive from others, knowing that this is how Life works.
Everyone gets to do what they like. And even though it might be hard to imagine how someone could enjoy a task that someone else doesn’t, we accept and support each other in our wide variety of interests and natural talents. There is no “best,” for we each honor individual preferences and rejoice in the delightful ways that all needs are so easily met because of our amazing variety/diversity. As we awake and set our intentions for the day, we feel safe & supported in trying whatever is calling us from inside. Success is assured, since success is simply living fully, authentically and joyfully - exploring, creating, experiencing.
Every person laughs freely, with abandon. We each play many times throughout each day. We recognize & appreciate how refreshed, creative, calm, optimistic and smart we are after we’ve played.
Every person recognizes his/her own worth, totally. We thoroughly enjoy our differences – the wide variety of perspectives, styles, choices, art, music, beauty, behaviors, etc. We find each other interesting, amusing, inspiring, and surprising. We savor our uniqueness and enjoy our commonalities. Everyone is welcome in many circles. We know how to be with each other in love. We approach each other with open, trusting hearts.
Every person has enough healthy water, air, food, shelter, clothing, transportation, flexibility, time, and means to easily take care of our personal needs. We all live in a pristine environment here on Earth, where we drink free water naturally filled with nutrients and we breathe deeply of clean, fresh air. We have plenty of movement built into our lives, in natural and fun ways. We are healthy, in the wide variety of bodies we live in, and we each marvel at what we can do with our own special body.
Every person feels loved and special. Every child has at least one adult in their lives to whom that child IS the most important person on the planet, at least one adult who naturally puts the well-being & desires of that child first while s/he’s growing up. Every adult has at least one person in their lives who thoroughly enjoys spending time with them and does so. Every adult has support from other adults. Everyone has friends. All ages intermingle respectfully and joyfully in work, school, social and community. Loneliness is a faded memory – we can no longer even fathom a person going years without feeling the loving touch of someone’s hand rubbing his or her back. We are connected socially as much, or as little, as we each prefer.
- When every person on this amazing Earth feels safe, worthy, valued and loved,
- When every one of us is well-rested, healthy, and has enough food, water, and pleasing shelter,
- When we all laugh often and freely express ourselves as our innermost spirit directs us,
- When we no longer limit ourselves to learning through struggle, martyrdom, and lack, and allow ourselves to discover what we can do when our basic human needs are consistently, easily and fully met,
- Can you imagine what our lives will be like?
I can. I want it!
To those who already have this, thank you. For being the proof of heaven coming into form here on Earth. For tipping the balance toward critical mass, which has already occurred. Now these changes are growing daily in the minds, hearts & actions of the rest of us.
To those who are missing any part, thank you for the portions that you have created in your lives. This, or some better version, will eventually take form. For we are all connected, whether we realize it or not. We all really do wish to live on this planet in peace, safety, abundance and love. Fear may still have a hold on some of us, but each day more and more of us shake fear loose, intentionally dare to relax, and then aim our powerful attention on the new changes developing. Our dreams and desires are meant to come true. So they will.
I imagine love, peace and personal freedom for every one on Earth. And for all the Life that we humans impact. This is completely possible and, frankly, inevitable. We have changed, we continue to change, and it is inevitable that our creations will now change for the better.
Whatever you wish, may you have it and accept it with open arms and childlike glee. Whether it’s a full night’s sleep, music, books, an ipod, time with someone you enjoy, the exhilaration of knowing you can always pay your bills forever more, or a $6 million dollar home.
May you let yourself want what you really want, and give yourself time every day to visit that desire and feel it come alive in your imagination! Then trust the joyful inner impulses that prompt you into action. For that IS how we create heaven on Earth, for all of us.
